The Yard Wins Design Award

The Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association has announced that The Yard, its new outdoor space at the NLNA Community Center, has received the Best Small Project Award (under $500K) from the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The award was presented last week to Kieran Timberlake (KT) at AIA Philadelphia's annual awards dinner. KT, which relocated its headquarters to the old Ortlieb's Bottling House on American Street in Northern Liberties in 2014, designed The Yard for the NLNA and the community on a pro bono basis.

Construction of the space was funded by a grant from the
Penn Treaty Special Services District.
