Annual Kearny Elementery Fundraiser – EAT.DRINK.PLAY! – Fri, Mar 20

Kearney School

6:30pm – Liberti Church – 2424 York Street

General Philip Kearny Elementary’s second annual fundraiser – EAT.DRINK.PLAY!

An evening of delicious food donated by FUGE catering, wine poured by Moore Brothers Wine Company, an open bar with craft beers, and a silent auction brimming with goods and services from Local Artists and Businesses.
Last year's fabulous event funded our PLAYWORKS program. This year's event will fund capital improvements necessary to help Kearny grow into an arts-focused magnet school.

Kearny School GymKearny has been on a roll this year:

Media Recognition – The PLAYWORKS program, which teaches healthy social skills through cooperative and creative play, has brought us attention as school where best practices are working. Read more HERE.
Community Connections – A new group of families of future Kearny students, Kearny Friends, is helping to build stronger connections between our school, our neighborhood, and vital resources: the dedication and energy of this group is helping us to dream bigger for our school.
Corporate Support – A private corporate donor has stepped forward to partner with our school: they underwrote the PLAYWORKS program this year and have supported a number of our community events, allowing us to focus our fundraising efforts on other areas of need at the school.
Growing Opportunities for our StudentsWe are developing a city-wide-admit ARTS FOCUSED MAGNET PROGRAM to open next fall. Our goal is to bring an expanded arts curriculum to our middle school and integrate the arts into the general curriculum for all grades, K-8. Our program will harness the positive therapeutic effect art can have on children and help our student to build 21st century skills, such as creative problem solving and collaboration.
Despite our successes, Kearny remains deeply under-resourced due to district budget cuts, and too many of our students continue to face the challenges associated with poverty. There is no time to rest on our accomplishments.
It will take all of us to keep the critical institution of public schools thriving and ensure that ALL children get the education they deserve. You can help us reach our ambitious goals and enjoy a great night out by attending EAT.DRINK.PLAY! on March 20th. Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,Jenni Desnouee, Co-PresidentKearny Elementary Home and School Association
