A Neighborhood safety Update

Hello neighbors. Over the last week, dozens of car windows have been smashed in our neighborhood. The police recommend the following tips:

  • Do not keep any valuables in your car

  • Park in a well-lit area close to visible surveillance cameras when possible

If your car window has been smashed, please file a police report. Unless a report is filed, the police do not know that a crime has occurred. As of June 17, only 15 reports have been made. We will not receive the proper resources needed to address this problem without adequate reporting.

You can file a police report in several ways:

  • Calling 911

  • Calling the police station

  • Going to the police station

As you may know, Northern Liberties is split between two police districts.
For reports south of Poplar St. contact the 9th District: (215) 686-3090, 401 N Broad St
For reports north of Poplar St. contact the 26th District: (215) 686-3260, 615 E Girard Ave

The NLNA is hosting a Safety Forum on Monday, June 24 at 6:30pm at the Community Center. City officials including Tara Mohr, First Deputy Managing Director, 26th District Captain Brian Gress will be present to take your questions and feedback.
