Residential Parking Permits on 4th Street...
Many neighbors have asked about the permit-parking signs that have gone up on a portion of N. 4th St. above Poplar. Here's how it works:
- Anyone can circulate a permit petition to other residents. If a majority sign, the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) creates permit parking.
- Neither the NLNA nor any other group can create or prevent permit parking. It's administered by the PPA. In fact, we usually don't even know about it unless or until it goes into effect.
- Anyone who lives in the area, and whose car is registered at their home address, can get a residential parking permit for $35 a year ($50/yr for a 2nd car). Visitor permits also are available.
Apply for a Residential Parking Permit
Residents in eligible areas can purchase parking permits that exempt them from meter and time limit restrictions on posted blocks. These permits assist residents in finding parking spaces near their home, enhancing quality of life in residential areas with insufficient on-street parking.Find out more HERE. —
