Philly Free Streets highlights the intersection of active transportation (walking and biking) and public health. Philly Free Streets 2016 will draw on Mayor Kenney’s commitment to neighborhoods while connecting participants to the city’s trail network and rivers. Philly Free Streets will invite people to explore the city’s streets, parks, and trails while being exposed to the health benefits of active commuting.
Philly Free Streets seeks volunteers to encourage participants to keep moving and to support free, family-friendly fitness activities and pop-up educational programming about city’s waterways, public art, architecture, environment, and vibrant cultures throughout. The event is scheduled to take place on September 24, 2016, from 8 am to 1 pm and will take place rain or shine.
