The NLNA would like to welcome  our newest board members.Thank you all for making this commitment to our neighborhood.

Here are their Statements:

Jennifer Baker (1-year term)

I have been in Northern Liberties since 1978, when I graduated from art school and moved into my studio. While I no longer live in the neighborhood, my business - my art studio where I work every day - is still in the same place at 3rd and Green. I also manage that building for my family, which owns it. My particular concern is to work to keep the neighborhood a vital place for artists and artisans to live and work, and to not see them all forced out by the rising tide of development and soaring costs.I have recently curated the Northern Liberties history exhibit at the Philadelphia History Museum (which continues through August 31st!) and the research for that exhibit has given me a much greater understanding of the changes that have taken place in our neighborhood.

Sasi Judd (2-year term)

I moved to Northern Liberties almost 30 years ago. Since this is my home, I believe that quality of life here matters. Because the neighborhood is still changing, it is important to actively keep what we as home owners and renters would like in the works as much as possible. In past times, I was on the zoning committee, so I have some familiarity with how that process works. For a long time, I have been grateful for all the efforts by board and committee members and think that it is time for me to take a turn to help best as I can.

Dolores F Lyons (2-year term)

As a thirty-seven year resident and property owner, I have had the privilege to witness first hand the growth and development of our community.  Watching the transformation of rubbish-strewn lots and dilapidated properties into viable businesses and residences enables me to continue to appreciate my choice of residency.I recognize the balance that our neighborhood association provides on our behalf is not happenstance; but a dedicated, committed effort evidenced through consistent advocacy.  I have had the privilege to watch it at work through participation on the Election Committee and in a number of meetings during a very tenuous period in our city. Throughout the gentrification, we were well informed and represented.I am pleased to accept your nomination and the opportunity to share in the work of the Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association board, seeing it foremost as a responsibility of being a beneficiary of its fine leadership.—
