Election Day Tuesday Important Info You Need to Know

Tuesday, November 6 is Election Day. The NLNA is a non-partisan charity, but we encourage you to get out and vote!The higher our voter participation, the stronger our voice with elected officials.Full information on polling places, ballots, and more is at the nonpartisan Committee of Seventy's Election Web site: click on the image above, or click HERE, or call their Election Day Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683). You can also check out the nonpartisan VotesPA.com site by clicking HERE.FAQ #1: Do I Need Photo or Gov't Issued ID to Vote? (1) No - in most cases.If you've voted at your polling place before, you do not need to produce ID. A poll worker is permitted to ask you for ID, but you are not required to produce it.(2) But - if it is your first time voting at the polling place, then you do have to show valid photo or government-issued ID. (3)You are never required to have your voter registration card with you - and that card does not count as a valid ID anyway.FAQ #2: When and Where Do I Vote? When: Polls are open 7AM to 8PM. If you are in line by 8PM, the poll workers must let you vote. If you need ID (your first time at the polling place) and you don't have it, you can return with it later, or you can fill out a Provisional (paper) Ballot. If you are not on the voting rolls, double-check to make sure you're in the right polling place. If you're convinced you're in the right place, you can fill out a Provisional Ballot. If a poll worker or anyone else gives you a problem or interferes with your voting, ask to speak to the on-site Judge of Elections, or call the Committee of Seventy. Never let anyone prevent you from voting. You can always at least fill out a Provisional Ballot.
