Volunteers Needed For Study Of Police Deployment Of Body-Worn Cameras
The 26th District has been selected for on-going deployment of body-worn cameras.
In partnership with the Philadelphia Police Department, researchers at Temple University are conducting a study on the impacts of body-worn cameras on policing.
We're asking for volunteers such as residents, civic leaders, businesses and clergy to participate in this study.
Part of this study involves community focus groups, the findings of which will inform questions on a subsequent community-wide survey. The focus groups will discuss how body worn cameras may or may not change the nature of police work, police officer behavior, citizen behavior and relationships between police organizations and citizens.
If you are willing to be contacted by a member of the research team about possible participation in a focus group, please send a brief email to Professor Jennifer Wood at woodj@temple.edu or call her at 215-204-8055. A member of the research team will then contact you to tell you more about the study and see if you are interested in participating.
