Summer Reading: 30-Million-Minute Challenge, June 16-August 8, 2014

Calling Philadelphia’s kids, teens, and adults! We dare you to read as much as you can all summer long so that, together, we read a whopping total of 30 million minutes!For more information visit the Rodriguez Library or another Free Library location, visit our website at freelibrary.org/summerreading, or call The Office of Public Service Support at 215-686-5372.

• Families with children from birth through 6th grade can sign up at their neighborhood Free Library location and start a Summer Reading bingo card. Download the preschool-age bingo card or the school-age bingo card now – both are full of fun reading activities and challenges! Complete the reading goals across the board vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.Teens in 7th through 12th grades can visit their neighborhood library to attend interesting programs and participate in fun activities. View a list of free programs or check in with your neighborhood library.

• Summer Reading for Adults returns to the Rodriguez Library and select other libraries across Philadelphia! Join us for a summer of interesting programs and great books. Complete an entry form at participating libraries and be entered into a drawing every time you read a book, listen to an audiobook, or attend a program.
• With Online Summer Reading, you can be a part of Summer Reading no matter where you are - all you need is your own Free Library card! Signup is easy: Click the sign-up link, answer a few short questions, enter your library card number, and you’re ready. Create your own username and password and then review books for a chance to be entered into a prize drawing. Keep track of the books and magazines you read, CDs you listen to, and DVDs you watch this summer by adding them to your log. You can even set up a "Books I Would Like to Read" list from other reviews that sound exciting. Online Summer Reading begins June 1 and runs through August 31, 2014. Random prize drawings will take place on June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13, August 20, August 27, and September 3. Winners will receive a $10 Target Gift Card that will be mailed to the address attached to the library card used to sign up for Summer Reading Online.
