2022 NLNA Board Nominations Remain Open Until May 26

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the NLNA General Meeting on April 28, and push the NLNA board elections back about a month.

Board nominations will remain open until May 26.

Please email Paula at voteNLNABoardelections@gmail.com to nominate yourself or someone else. We're looking for board members who are self-starters, can invest their time, and/or have experience in fundraising, non-profit management, communications, or budgeting, and care about their neighborhood!

This year we are electing President, Treasurer, and 6 Board seats. Those seats are currently being held by Claire Adler –President, Jacek Ghosh, and six at-large members; Alex Boland, Shakirra Clarke, Chastity Houston, Joe Mikuliak, Matt Ochs, Matt Ruben.

You may make nominations on-line starting today by emailing them to Paula at voteNLNABoardelections@gmail.com.  Nominations will be closed at 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 28th.  After checking eligibility, and receiving confirmation from nominees, we will post a list of candidates, along with information about the May General/Election Meeting.

Interested in running? To run for an at-large Board seat, you need to be at least 18 years of age, and have lived in the neighborhood (this includes both owners and renters) for no less than one year, or have owned or operated a business with a physical location in the neighborhood for no less than one year. To run for President or Treasurer, you also need to have been on the NLNA board for one year, now or in the past.

Board members are expected to:

  • Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings on the second Monday of each month
  • Chair or help lead at least one NLNA committee or project/initiative
  • Volunteer for various NLNA fundraisers and events
  • Stay in active contact with other Board members via the NLNA board email list
  • Be ambassadors to the neighborhood, and generally help solve problems and promote quality of life
  • Participate in overseeing the NLNA’s finances and internal operations

If you would like to run you can ask someone to nominate you, or you can nominate yourself.
