Property Tax Appeal Info at September NLNA General Meeting - Thurs, Sept 26
Property Tax appeals are due in to the Board of Revision of Taxes (BRT) by
October 7. This is separate, and more official, than the earlier "first level review request" that homeowners might have filed with the OPA (Office of Property Assessment). You can file a BRT appeal
regardless of whether or not you filed a review request with the OPA. And if you did file with the OPA, you do
not have to wait for a response from them before filing a BRT appeal.Appeal forms and information from the BRT can be found by clicking
here.A new citizens' guide to appealing to the BRT, created by the Crosstown Coalition of Taxpayers, can be found by clicking
here (look for the "AVI Appeal Guide").
The NLNA will be holding a session to answer questions and help property owners file BRT appeals. Local experts will be on hand. This session is scheduled for the evening of our
September General Membership Meeting, Thursday, September 26, 7PM, at St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church, 4th & Fairmount (just a block west of our normal meeting location).
