The Awesome Fest is excited to announce the first program of their annual outdoor summer series.

Every Friday at sundown, , the festival will showcase a lineup of cutting edge independent film premieres at Liberty Lands. As the result of a grant from Penn Treaty Social Services District, all outdoor screenings will once again be free to attend!The program will launch on June 26^th, with the Philadelphia Premiere of CALL ME LUCKY, Bobcat Goldthwait’s moving & inspirational documentary on his close friend & beloved stand-up comic, Barry Crimmins. The festivities will close to a much different tune on August 14th, with the New Zealand heavy metal demon-slaying horror odyssey: DEATHGASM.“With this program, it was important for me to provide an adult alternative to the current outdoor film experience in Philadelphia”, said Awesome Fest founder & artistic director Josh Goldbloom. “I have always taken pride in showcasing the festival’s titles in unique & exciting ways, and I’m as thrilled as ever to share these remarkable (and often bloody) films, at one of the coolest outdoor venues in town.”All screenings will begin at sundown, and will now be larger than ever before (10 feet to be exact!), thanks to FunFlix - who will be providing the series with their newly acquired 40 foot outdoor movie screen.Full Schedule:
